A ginger flower, tangled petals, protrusions and tendrils, a chaotic nest. It casts a shadow on a brave face turned toward the sun. The process of painting this piece involved making sense of the confusion. I picked one petal at a time and followed its path, weaving and sculpting. The metaphor of a sweet face seeing glimpses of truth through chaos came subconsciously. One of the many beautiful accidents of making art!
